So you didn’t get an invitation to King Charles’ coronation this year, did you? Yup, we, too have other plans and won’t be able to attend. (wink wink) Not to worry, wedding season is upon us and offers plenty of pomp and circumstance and fabulous fashion moments to — almost — rival a royal coronation.

Fittingly, this year marks a return to more regal nuptial celebrations, complete with dramatic destination weddings and royally large guest lists that more than make up for the truncated, simpler celebrations of years past. On the fashion front: Think dramatic, voluminous ball gowns, sweeping trains, bows aplenty and enough tulle to outfit an entire corps de ballet. There’s even a new addition to the fashion lexicon to describe the bridal trend taking over people’s social media feeds: tullecore. (For anyone needing a refresher: Adding the suffix “core” to anything equals a trend, e.g. normcore, barbiecore, cottagecore, and the list goes on!) 

And with all of this comes an emphasis on wedding extras that are, well, rather extra —from heirloom-worthy gems to pass on to future generations to deliciously detailed handbags and footwear so fancy they could upstage the dress. Men, too, are upping the ante with statement-making watches, elegant cufflinks and designer shoes with serious flair.
