SOUTH COAST PLAZA TO HOST A GEORGE ESQUIVEL POP-UP

South Coast Plaza will host a pop-up of celebrated shoe and accessory designer George Esquivel. The pop-up is scheduled for October 14th – 15th, 2022.

The pop-up will also celebrate SCP’s philanthropic partnership with The Harvesters, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County feeding people in need in Orange County.

The George Esquivel pop-up will be open on October 14th and 15th from 11:00am-5:00pm and will be located in the Jewel Court, Level Two.

George is a Southern California-based designer and craftsman who designed his first pair of shoes in 1994, and began honing his craft thereafter. For the last 20 years, he has built his namesake brand, Esquivel, which specializes in handmade shoes and accessories.

He will host the two-day pop-up that will showcase his commitment to slow fashion through the time-honored traditions of handcrafted shoes and handbags. The pop-up will recreate Esquivel House, his atelier in Downtown Los Angeles, with several of his artisans on-site demonstrating the art of building made to order shoes.

George will present a curated selection of his men’s and women’s made-to-order shoes, and an assortment of shoes, sneakers, and bags available for purchase on-site.

He also has created a special sneaker for The Harvesters, using his iconic x logo, with 3 x’s, marking the 30th anniversary of The Harvesters in their signature orange. George will donate 50% of the sales of the sneaker to The Harvesters.

Esquivel is an expression of both timeless and modern design, shoes and accessories crafted for clients who understand and appreciate the passion behind every detail of his work. His leather products are handmade in the U.S. at Esquivel House by skilled artisans, who are personally trained by George in the art of handcrafting. The techniques George employs ensure an aging process that captures the personal patina of its owner for years of enjoyment.
