Maison Margiela is a design couture house founded by the Belgian designer Martin Margiela in 1988 and headed today by the British couturier John Galliano. The Maison celebrates unconventional aesthetics and embraces the philosophy that fashion is an artistic expression rather than a cult for personality. Daring, genderless and ambiguous, Maison Margiela designs Haute Couture–Artisanal, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, leather goods and fragrances.
