SOUTH COAST PLAZA AND THE ARTS

The Segerstrom family has shaped the cultural identity of Orange County over the past six decades, beginning in 1967. Today the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, adjacent to South Coast Plaza, is one of the most respected multi-disciplinary cultural campuses in the United States. The campus was created through the extraordinary generosity of the Segerstrom family who have donated over 14 acres of land and more than $70 million in cash contributions since 1975, when the South Coast Repertory Theater opened.

Today, along with the Tony Award winning South Coast Repertory Theater’s two stages, the campus features the 3,000-seat multi-purpose Segerstrom Hall, the 2,000-seat Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and is home to three resident companies:  Pacific Symphony, Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Pacific Chorale;  and UCI Langson Orange County Museum of Art.
