Piaget Features the Altiplano Ultimate Automatic

Piaget‘s Altiplano Ultimate Automatic watch is one of the thinnest automatic watches in the world. Designed in rose gold with a black off-center dial and black alligator-skin strap is a mere 4.30 mm in thicknes. Its secret lies in the unique design of the rose gold case, whose case back serves as the plate to which 219 components are affixed. This complex structure fuses movement to case. Depending on an inverted construction of the caliber, with its bridges mounted on the dial side, it gives a result that is both technically and aesthetically effective. The whole mechanism and hand system is contained within the height of the balance, with an off-center hours and minutes display. Within this extremely limited space, Piaget has designed a suspended barrel, held in place solely by a single bridge on the dial side, and a peripheral 22K gold rotor coated with black PVD.
