Chef Sang Yoon Will Open Tiny’s Burger in South Coast Plaza on June 15

The Father’s Office founder brings Asian-influenced American favorites and a Konbini-style snack shop to Costa Mesa

 

 

Father’s Office fanatics can soon enjoy chef Sang Yoon’s next project, Tiny’s Burger, on Monday, June 15. Foodies can stop in to Costa Mesa’s beloved South Coast Plaza to get a taste of Tiny’s — an exciting, immersive space, where casual dining, global snacking and retail shopping intersect.

Named in honor of chef Yoon’s late Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Tiny’s embodies her uncompromising spirit in every way. The space was designed with a playful outdoor feel in mind, transporting that airy, open-air energy indoors. Chef Yoon, who was also behind the ephemeral revamp of Culver City’s Helms Bakery, waited 10 years to open a restaurant at the Costa Mesa shopping center after a long search for the perfect location.

“Tiny’s is about craveable comfort food refined with ingredients I love,” said Chef Yoon in a statement. “We wanted to create a space that feels nostalgic but entirely fresh, mixed with a menu that seems familiar yet new. Tiny’s is a place you can visit over and over and again and still discover something new.”

The menu was crafted by chef Yoon and chef Nanor Harboyan (former chef de cuisine at Destroyer). By balancing classic Americana favorites with Asian influences, the menu tastefully pushes traditional fast-casual boundaries. 

Some highlights from the menu include Tiny’s signature dry-aged beef burger elevated with caramelized gochujang and ssamjang sauce, a Tokyo Dog dressed up in bonito flakes and furikake, American chili kicked up with Chinese chili crisp and comforting miso mac ‘n’ cheese. For fans of Father’s Office, there’s also legendary gastropub touches, like the famous salt & vinegar tots and more additions coming soon.

Tiny’s is a tribute to the nostalgic American burger stand, but with a unique twist reminiscent of a lively, curated Konbini snack shop. Like Japanese markets, the retail space features aisles packed with special snacks, candies and ready-to-eat foods.

If you’re on the go, you can explore the Konbini-style snack shop, stocked with house-made grab-and-go sandos and salads alongside an assortment of niche snacks and drinks from around the world.

Tiny’s Burger will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 9 p.m. Friday through Saturday and until 7 p.m. on Sunday.
