The Lunar New Year exhibit will be on display in Jewel Court February 12 – March 1, 2026

The Horse, the seventh animal in the twelve-year Chinese zodiac, symbolizes vitality, independence, strength, and confidence. It is also associated with perseverance, charisma, and a spirit of exploration. In 2026, the Horse is paired with the Fire element, representing dynamic energy and the courage to pursue bold goals.

Rising at the heart of Jewel Court, this striking Year of the Horse centerpiece celebrates strength, momentum, and good fortune for the New Year. The horse is animated and lifts into a dramatic rearing position, symbolizing forward movement and the courage to move ahead.

Poised atop sculpted clouds, the horse conveys elevation and majesty, while surrounding auspicious symbols express wishes for prosperity, success, and positive energy in the year ahead. Gold coins, ingots, and traditional Lunar New Year elements — including the lucky knot and firecrackers — are woven throughout the installation, with the Fire element thoughtfully integrated into the design.

Crafted by an award-winning Rose Parade float builder, the horse is composed of natural materials and finished with exceptional detail. The surface features bronze strawflower, gold flax seed, fine ground coffee, and black onion powder, accented with red cranberry, gold clover, and dried cranberry seeds. The combination of movement, traditional symbolism, dynamic LED imagery, and botanical detail creates an immersive centerpiece honoring Lunar New Year traditions and offering a memorable visual experience.

Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a time of renewal, family reunions, and cultural reflection, celebrated by communities around the world.
