How does your background in rock climbing influence the brands design?

The inspiration from rock climbing, where every piece of gear has a purpose, we transpose this idea into the world of fashion and we really think how people carry things and especially the life of people is evolving so fast and every bag we have really has a lot of thought and it’s very much about the purpose.

How did Topologie’s Franco-Japanese point of view take shape?

Well, first I happen to live in Japan at the time when we had the idea and I was climbing a lot around Japan. Go Urano, who is an architect interior designer, he actually designed the concept of this shop and all the shops around the world and so we decided to create the brand. I’m French, he’s Japanese, hence the Franco-Japanese origins.

What do you hope South Coast Plaza shoppers experience when discovering Topologie ?

I hope they will have a very memorable experience where they interact with our staff and they really could express their individuality in a product. We have a lot of people already here in South Coast Plaza that come back and came back several times, because they want to add a new color to their collection, they want to add a new rope or new functional bag, etcetera.
