Din Tai Fung takes a journey “Over the Moon” with Netflix

Din Tai Fung has partnered with Over the Moon, Netflix’s newest animated feature film, to bring a family-style meal that’s out of this world. The partnership, for which Din Tai Fung has created the Full Moon Feast, aligns with the Mid-Autumn (or Full Moon) Festival, a traditional holiday in Chinese culture where families come together to celebrate the year’s harvest with a meal under the full moon.

Streaming exclusively on Netflix beginning Friday, October 23, Over the Moon, is about moving forward, embracing the unexpected, and the power of imagination. We are taken on a magical, musical adventure with a bright young girl, Fei Fei, to find the mythical moon goddess. Fueled with determination and a passion for science, Fei Fei builds a rocket ship to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There, she ends up on an unexpected quest and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures.

We learn a few valuable lessons along the way, like the pivotal role food plays in maintaining our family traditions. With a family-owned business steeped in tradition and dishes that combine precision and heart, Din Tai Fung naturally extends the film’s central themes of family and food. The message: Although times have changed, the meals we share have not. According to the owners of Din Tai Fung, the goal of this partnership is to bring families together for a unique meal experience that they can enjoy and share from the comfort of their own home.

The Full Moon Feast includes many Din Tai Fung favorites: Cucumber Salad, Sweet & Sour Baby Back Ribs, Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Pot Stickers, Jidori Chicken Wontons with Spicy Sauce, Jidori Chicken Fried Noodles, String Beans with Garlic, and Shrimp Fried Rice. Each order will also include the Savory Bun Set (Kurobuta Pork Bun, Vegetable & Mushroom Bun, Jidori Chicken & Mushroom Bun, and Vegetable & Kurobuta Pork Bun), the Sweet Bun Set (Red Bean Bun, Sesame Bun, Sweet Taro Bun, and Chocolate Bun).

The feast comes with two Moon Crafts kits featuring a rocket launcher, character-inspired finger puppets, and a glow-in-the-dark paper lantern, available while supplies last at Din Tai Fung at South Coast Plaza. Learn more about the Full Moon Feast
