(New York, New York, March 31, 2016) Designer Anne Fontaine will present her Spring-Summer ’16 collection in an unprecedented event in Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 6 p.m.
The special evening marks the first time that Anne Fontaine will unveil her collection in a full runway presentation at the premier luxury shopping destination in the U.S., giving her followers in Southern California a unique opportunity to see the entire collection up close and meet the designer.
Anne Fontaine’s Spring-Summer collection draws direct influence from nature’s most muted and awe-inspiring elements through a mix of linen and graphic materials. These materials include netting, patterns of smoke, as well as embroidery and lace in geometric motifs. This influence is also shown within the addition of leather in an openwork effect, which provides an organic aesthetic.
Mother Nature is presented through subtle ethic themes such as delicate braiding, sunburst pleating, safari jacket styles, and tribal style embroidery. Ethereal waves are represented by navy and lagoon blue in denim, cotton voile and embroidered and printed precious plain silks. Pops of color are showcased through floral prints and earthy tones in the silks, tops and accessories. Staple silhouettes include longline skirts, culottes, dresses and tunics.
Makeup will be provided by MAC Cosmetics and hair by the Sassoon Salon/Sassoon Creative Team led by Edward Tedeschi, both South Coast Plaza retailers. The runway show will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a reception at the Anne Fontaine boutique on level one near Carousel Court. South Coast Plaza is located at 3333 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, Calif. After discovering an old trunk filled to the brim with white shirts, Anne and her husband decided to take over his family’s clothing business. Over the years she has imposed the white shirt as the main staple of the feminine wardrobe in the same way as the little black dress. The Anne Fontaine brand developed into a lifestyle brand through a complete wardrobe around the shirt with a line of accessories and home products. Anne Fontaine pieces are sold in 70 boutiques around the world.
