South Coast Plaza Showcases Lunar New Year Style

Lunar New Year is an extraordinary time of year at South Coast Plaza. We’re marking the occasion for 19 days through Feb. 18 with weekend entertainment and an eye-catching, photo opp-worthy centerpiece display in Jewel Court. Many of our boutiques are taking part in the festivities by hosting in-store events such as calligraphy or offering special products and capsule collections bearing a Lunar New Year and zodiac symbol of the year theme.

Influencers mingle at the champagne reception

To complement the Lunar New Year luxury items, AnQi created a special luncheon menu. Guests indulged in a four-course meal beginning with a surprise amuse bouche : tuna cigars presented in a cigar box that, once opened, released a dramatic swirl of smoke. The first course was AnQi’s signature Longevity Noodles, Szechuan stir fry egg noodles with tofu, snap peas, Thai basil, bean sprouts and eggplant followed by a choice of steamed filet sea bass or crispy skin pork belly. The  Bountiful Harvest dessert comprised of gingerbread custard, kumquat ice cream, almond, ramboutan, pomelo, mango, lychee and kiwi made for a delicious and artful finish.
