Black, the unofficial dress code of the evening, gave many of South Coast Plaza’s luxury jewelry and timepiece brands more room to shine on the red carpet and onstage at the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Montblanc watches were among the most ubiquitous, as were Harry Winston  necklaces and earrings. Salma Hayek Pinault wore more than $5 million of Harry Winston gems including a Yellow Diamond Winston Cluster Diamond Necklace built with over 80 carats of diamonds and set in 18k yellow gold and platinum, matching Yellow Diamond Drop Earrings with Diamond Cluster Accents and an Emerald-cut Diamond ring.

Kate Hudson looked radiant with Vintage 1969 Harry Winston Cluster Diamond Earrings, a radiant-cut yellow diamond ring set in 18k yellow gold and the Secret Wonder Diamond, Sapphire and Aquamarine Pendant necklace, weighing in at over 30 carats.

Others in Harry Winston diamonds: presenters Emilia Clarke and Viola Davis and nominees Helen Mirren and Claire Foy. Mirren showed off Harry Winston’s Iconic Diamond Wreath Necklace.

Nominee Jessica Chastain was classically stunning in Piaget. A Limelight Gala 18-karat white gold and diamond watch adorned her wrist and a pair of Limelight Rose Passion earrings sparkled next to her signature red hair.

Meanwhile, Cartier provided the glittering touches on award winner Saoirse Ronan. The cuff shown below is from the Cartier High Jewelry line.

Sterling Brown, Mary J Blige, Katherine Langford, Sally Hawkins, Isabelle Huppert and Sadie Sink all were adorned in Chopard fine jewelry. The delicate Haute Joaillerie earrings worn by Stranger Things’ 15-year old Sink are from Chopard’s Temptations Collection.

Allison Brie, Laura Dern, Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon and Alicia Vikander wore pieces from Bulgari‘s new and vintage collections. Biel’s accessories dated back to the ’30s and ’50s. Best actor nominee Alexander Skarsgaard sported a Bulgari Octo 38mm watch. Other timepieces included the best of the best from Tiffany & Co., PaneraiJaeger-LeCoultre, and Montblanc. More than a dozen actors chose a Montblanc timepiece but Dwayne Johnson arguably made the boldest combination by pairing the 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim watch ($34,000) with matching cuff links .

IWC had its share of celebs wearing its watches – the Portugieser Automatic on Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and the 40mm Ingenieur automatic in rose gold on Zac Efron.

Tiffany & Co., made a distinct presence by accessorizing many celebs with both diamond jewelry and timepieces AND donating to Time’s Up, the Legal Defense Fund providing subsidized legal support to those who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace. Presenters Gal Gadot, Natalie Portman, and Sarah Paulson, nominee Margot Robbie and winner Greta Gerwig, O.T. Fagbenele and Liev Schrieber chose to make a statement in more ways than one by wearing Tiffany & Co.
